Who ever came up with the idea that tripods must be fully collapsed before the start of a stage must have been bored or looking for a problem in search of a solution…..I understand this issue has been out there for way too long and it’s time to put this requirement behind us!
Only rules that should really matter are weight and power factor requirements for open and I guess the myriad of technical details required to define factory….. otherwise, give me a shoot position, right and left lateral limits and target count and set us all free!
Run what you brung and use it however you want as long as you carry everything with you from stage to stage! I also don’t care what muzzle break you put on your suppressor and I can’t be the only one

This whole tripod collapsed thing goes way back to when lots of us started cleaning PRS/NRL positional stages when using them as a rear support and MD’s were looking to add a time penalty for tripod use……. No relevance to field style matches!
I could benefit from saving time deploying equipment

The idea is that you are on a ‘hike’ out ‘hunting’. Most people would have everything stowed. Deploying gear under pressure is a good skill to practice
Why is everybody always trying to tweak the rules to their liking? It seems like half this group wants more rules half the group wants less rules. It seems to work very well the way it is. If you’re running out of time to deploy your tripod perhaps you should practice deployment of your gear more and get faster at it
