Seems like the normies out there really dislike the 6.5 creedmoor. Why?
The cartridge everyone loves to hate/ hate to love mentality probably. It took me awhile to grab onto it also as I came from shooting 308. Never looked back since switching. People will go back to all the years of service from wars and hunting situations that the Winchester served them right. I’m always down for something new though. To each their own I guess.
I think it gets so much hate from the normal hunting population from a gross misunderstanding of ballistics. While it is flatter, and retains energy better than older cartridges (308 for example), it doesn’t defy the laws of physics. If you take only that its “flatter shooting” to the field without doing due dilligence on learning the cartridge, building a proper DOPE chart at least, etc. Your gonna make shitty shots beyond your capabilities. I think that uneducated people have made enough poor shots to have the cartridge get a stigma.
