What is your favorite suppressor for NRLH and why?
I’ve enjoyed my TBAC S-RR for the last year but would like to try it with a Recoil X brake. I can spot most of shots as long as I’m driving the rifle correctly. I think these braked suppressors are awesome.
Next can on order will be the Abel Theorem but not sure what size to go with for a future 6.5prc build. I don’t ever plan on shooting without a can anymore moving forward.
I just ordered a TBAC magnus S-RR. I’ve never shot suppressed before. I’m curious how the recoil reduction will compare to my APA fat bastard brake.
Probably won’t get it until after the season is over though ![]()
I have yet to use one yet but from other forums, this is where the Recoil X shines opposed to the factory brakes. Maybe one day I’ll win one off a prize table or get a smoking deal on a used one ![]()
I’ve got a Magnus rr, Magnus S rr and Magnus K rr. The full size Magnus I would say is hearing safe with the factory brake and recoil x. The Magnus S rr I think you want plugs lightly in with the factory brake and definitely with the recoil x. The Magnus K rr is much better than a brake but you’ll want plugs in. The recoil reduction is much better with the brake than without. I don’t notice a huge difference between the factory Tbac brake and the recoil x but there is some.
I recently got my first can, the Abel Theorem with a RecoilX brake, and ran it for my first NRLH match 2 weeks ago, shooting 6.5CM. It is wonderfully quiet with earpro on, and with the factory 30cal endcap I wouldn’t have any reservations about shooting without earpro (i.e. when hunting). The recoil control with the RecoilX is significant over the solid endcap, and is really forgiving when you have suboptimal body positioning. When you do things right, it has hardly any muzzle rise, and a really short push without being snappy. I’m extremely pleased.
I manly shoot the S-RR with Recoil X brake. It is definitely more effective than the TBAC brake. My barrel seems to like some more weight out front.
I also have a Theorem S that I really like. The weight and size make the overall package more manageable. I’d like to load development next year with it or a K-RR.
Also compared them to my S and full length Magnus, and why noise is noticeably lower, the recoil is noticeably higher. If already wearing ear pro it’s an easy decision imo.
