Spectators - Can I bring my family, friends to the match? They want to watch and learn about the sport.
We encourage our Match Directors (MDs) to allow spectators and many do. That said, because these competitions take place across varied and sometimes challenging terrain, we rely on our MDs to make the final call based on their specific location and logistics. The MDs owe it to the competitors to have a safe, efficient, and fun match, so common requirements for a spectator may include:

Signing a liability waiver

Attending the safety briefing

Following all safety protocols (eye/ear protection, approaching all areas with caution and from the same direction as everyone else, avoiding interference with the competition, etc.)

In some cases, being accompanied by a competitor. A designated guardian is always required for younger spectators

Being prepared to stay on-site for the full duration of the match if terrain or safety concerns limit movement once the event begins (ie. live fire may be compromising roads/paths). In such cases, it’s good to bring water, snacks, and anything else you might need for the day
In short, we love having people come out to watch and support the sport, and it’s usually possible with MD approval. Safety is always our top priority, so we just want to make sure everyone can enjoy the events responsibly.
